With an island chock-full of resorts and hotels proclaiming that their Sunday brunch is different and unique, it is very easy to say that I have yet to experience one quite like Outrigger Phuket’s Metzo’s Bistro & Bar. Instead of the traditional buffet-style setup and lines, Metzo’s offers a relaxed environment with wonderful servers and staff to help you along the way. There are two different types of brunches offered, one is free flow with signature hijacked cocktails, beer and selected wine, while the other is food only with one complimentary signature cocktail. Either way, you are sure to have a phenomenal meal!

To start, staff will bring over fresh bread and a huge selection of mezze and tapas to your table, which include beyond delicious hummus, moutabal, tabouleh, Greek salad, beef carpaccio and much, much more. What was nice about this style of dining was that if you decide you want more of something, or to try a mezze or tapa that’s on the brunch menu that didn’t make it to the table, you are more than welcome to order it at no extra charge! And as wonderful as that is and sounds, you must be careful to save room for the main!

Each person can select one of five dishes for their main course – chicken shawarma, meat mixed grill, seafood mixed grill, surf & turf or vegetable tajine. Each one is completely excellent, with fresh grilled meats, amazing couscous, flavorful vegetables and huge portions. However, the winner was absolutely the chicken shawarma with freshly roasted chicken, warm flat bread, crisp mixed salad, garlic sauce and Lebanese pickles, all with a side of fries. This is something that is worth ordering anytime you visit and not just for brunch!

To finish off this culinary excellence, you must take a trip to the wall of desserts… literally; it’s a wall of desserts! With decedent chocolate cakes and truffles, fresh fruit, lemon tarts and anything else you could hope for, this is an amazing way to end an incredible brunch.

As you digest the amazingness that you just inhaled, you are welcome to lounge by the pool or sip on a freshly brewed latte as the kids have plenty of activities to distract them, such as movies, arts & crafts, water polo and table tennis.

With phenomenal food, a unique approach to brunch and a relaxed and fun atmosphere, Metzo’s Sunday brunch is an absolute for everyone and anyone who enjoys Sunday brunch and amazing Mediterranean!
