Cecconi Italian Restaurant and Havana Café are a charming duo of restaurants in Phuket, located close to Nai Harn Beach on the main road in Rawai. Offering the best in Italian cuisine, as well as incredible grilled meats, organic salads and tapas, these two restaurants share a brick wood-fired oven, giving the food that wonderful smokey taste and char grilled flavor.
Both restaurants offer an array of refreshing cocktails and French wines in a relaxing bistro-type atmosphere while the chef mans the barbecue and oven! Separated by just a small wall, Cecconi and Havana Café are distinctly different, but are one family, and you can be happy to know that you may order off of either menu, no matter where you sit! With authentic Italian antipastos and down-home BBQ sides, you really do get the best of both worlds. On one side there’s BBQ potatoes and green beans with bacon and on the other side there’s bruschetta and caprese salad – whichever way you choose, you know it will be good!
One great place to start is the Havana Salad, which is a wonderful mix of prosciutto, cheese and fried potatoes on greens with balsamic. It’s a wonderful combination of textures, temperatures and flavors all in one dish and works incredibly well! This is hearty enough for a light meal, but also a wonderful way to get your appetite started – you will need it for all of the amazing grilled meat and sides you will be ordering!
On the Italian front, you have your choice of fresh pastas with homemade sauces and amazingly fresh, organic salads, but it would be a huge miss if you didn’t try a pizza or two… or three. Not only is it cooked in the wood-fired oven, giving it that amazing chewy, crispy crust, but the sauce is delicious and homemade, while the toppings are fresh with the perfect amount of cheese. The pizza alone is worth the trip down! However, there is such an incredible array of meats to choose from to go on the grill, that it would be shame to miss out!
With choices such as New Zealand lamb chops, black Angus rib eye, half chicken and beef skewers, all served with French fries, it’s hard to go wrong! Each is cooked to perfection, incredibly tender and couldn’t be better if you had grilled it yourself!
And when you are finished filling your stomachs with the amazing food on offer, you must try one of the homemade desserts. We recommend either the tiramisu or apple pie – both incredibly rich and with that charming home-style that makes you feel like you just finished an incredible meal with your family. And what’s even better? Both Cecconi and Havana Café are pet friendly for your well-behaved furry friends, making it the perfect place to go with the whole household!
